Meet Dr. Zambrano

Dr. Catalina Zambrano grew up in Monterrey, Mexico where her interest in Orthodontics began since she was a little girl. Her dad is an Orthodontist and her mom a Periodontist, both trained in Germany.  Since a very young age, she worked with them. 

Education/Experience

She attended Tecnologico de Monterrey, where she received an exceptional dental education obtaining her DDS and graduating top of her class. 

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Zambrano did a 1-year Orthodontic internship program at UT Health San Antonio. Following this training, she was selected to attend the Orthodontic Residency at UT Health San Antonio graduating with both degrees: Certificate in Orthodontics and Master in Science. During her residency, she obtained the First Place recognition for her Dental Research at the Annual UTHSCSA School of Dentistry Dental Science Symposium. She completed the written part of the American Board of Orthodontics in April of 2018.

She is an active member in many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), American Dental Association (ADA), and Texas Dental Association (TDA). 

Improving the smiles of patients is what motivates Dr. Zambrano in the field of orthodontics. Her ultimate goal is to help patients achieve a smile that inspires confidence and pride.

Outside the Office

Dr. Zambrano is married to her husband, Mauricio De Hoyos, which is involved in the Recycling business; they both own a corgi named Luna.  When not in the office, Dr. Zambrano enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, cooking, hiking and traveling.
